Dear Del Sol,
Dr. Sancy Leachman and I wanted to send an e-mail to let you know how much we appreciate your donation of Del Sol products for the Huntsman Cancer Awareness Expo, which was held at the South Towne Expo on Saturday, September 29.
Originally, we set up a children’s area where they could make a “UV” color changing bracelet, color a picture about sun safe clothing, and paint fingernails with the UV polish. We discovered that the women were as interested in getting their nails painted as the children and quickly had multiple bottles of polish opened so that many could paint at a time. At one point, we had five sisters all painting their nails together and chatting for about 20 minutes! Along with our “skin cancer spot check” area, the nail polish area was one of the most popular and entertaining areas to visit.
Later on in the morning, Dr. Leachman gave a presentation about skin cancer and sun safety. Part of her presentation included a contest between two groups of participants to see who could select the best clothing for sun safety. At the end of the contest, all participants received a Del Sol T-shirt, Frisbee, hair clips, or hat. Several of the girls who modeled in the fashion show were also given a bottle of nail polish, which was very exciting for a 14-year-old!!
We are so appreciative of your generous and thoughtful donation for this health fair event. Your great products provide us with a way to visually teach about UV rays and the importance of sun protection.
Thanks again for your support,
