I tried out Del Sol’s color change nail polish in Girls’ Night Out, On Fire!, and Superhero. As someone who paints her nails at least a few times a week, I am always on the lookout for new polishes. These definitely did not disappoint! The first thing I noticed was that all three colors went on smoothly—no clumps, no having to go back and get spots that the brush missed. Dry time was short, less than a minute until it was safe to touch. I was especially impressed with the glittery On Fire! It had the same soft, satiny look that the other colors had and removed more easily than any other glitter polish I have ever used. My one complaint about the polishes themselves was that it took three coats to get fully opaque coverage of the Girls’ Night Out and On Fire! and four coats of the Superhero. With the quick dry time between coats, though, it still didn’t take very long for my manicure to be finished.
As for the color change, I went into it not expecting much. I have tried color change polishes before that either didn’t change at all, or it took so long and was so subtle that there was no point. Del Sol’s polishes, however, changed as dramatically as the bottles suggested. The change was almost immediate upon exposure to sunlight, taking about fifteen seconds to change completely. Changing back after going inside took about 30 seconds.
Buying cosmetics online can be tricky, since you can’t be sure exactly what the color will look like. Realizing that, Del Sol will replace your bottle if it’s not what you expected. However, I found that all three polishes, for a total of six different colors, were exactly as pictured.
Overall, Del Sol may just be my new favorite brand of nail polish!
