Del Sol’s newest store opened this week in Mooloolaba, Australia under new store owners, Mark and Melinda Langlands (pictured below far right), who first saw a Del Sol store in St. Thomas while cruising on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas in 2013.
The Langlands identified Mooloolaba (pronounced Ma-loo-la-bar) as a great store location because of the volume of hotels and tourists in the area. The store is located in the busiest section of the 1-km strip that makes up the hotel and shopping center of town.
During the store’s grand opening today, the city was also hosting a 70.3 km triathlon, where the swim start and overall finish line were a mere 50 meters away from the store, leading to a fantastic opening weekend.
Mooloolaba is a suburb and tourist resort township on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia. It’s located 97 kilometres (60 mi) north of the state capital, Brisbane, and is part of the Maroochydore urban centre. Mooloolaba derives from the Aboriginal word mulu, meaning snapper fish, or mulla meaning Red-bellied Black Snake.
