Del Sol this week opened its newest store in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada in the city center on 168 Water Street. The new store is approximately 800 square feet and is the only retail store in the region selling exclusively clothing and accessories that change color with sunlight.
Del Sol has continued to expand its international and domestic presence for the past 20 years now with more than 100 store locations in 24 countries. Del Sol stores are found in Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Barbados, Canada, Aruba, Mauritius, Brazil, Curacao, Turkey, Spain, France, Honduras, St. Maarten, Bahamas, Antigua, Bonaire and various cities throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean.
New store owners, Ted and Jennifer Lacey, who originally saw Del Sol while on a Caribbean cruise with their family several years ago, were captivated by Del Sol’s color-changing products and amazed by how customers were reacting to the products when they changed colors with sunlight.
“Del Sol is completely unique to this region of the world,” said Ted Lacey. “St. John’s is rich in cultural heritage, specifically in music and travel tourism, and we plan on marketing and promoting within these communities.”
Additional Del Sol store openings are planned in 2014 in Washington D.C., Durban City, South Africa, Calgary, Alberta, Brisbane, Australia and many more. The majority of these independently owned stores will be operated by licensed, contracted partners of Del Sol, L.C.
Congratulations to the Laceys and welcome to the new Del Sol St. John’s store! Ever been to Newfoundland? What’s a must-see attraction for visitors? Let us know in the comments.
