Del Sol this month set up one of the most popular product offerings and booths at Salt Lake City’s Comic Con event, featuring Del Sol’s color-changing Marvel tees and color-changing Disney tees.
“For Del Sol’s first appearance at Comic Con, it was a positive experience all around,” said Scott Brady, Del Sol AVP of Communications. “We had close to 500 transactions that amounted to more than $10,000 in the two and a half days that we were there. Dozens of comic fans returned to the Del Sol booth multiple times because of how much they loved the color-changing Disney and Marvel products.”
Del Sol Comic Con staffers were caught mingling and mixing with the local storm troopers and stay-puffed marshmallow men – all part of getting to know your customers.
In 2011 and 2012, Del Sol formed a key partnership with Disney’s $30-billion-a-year consumer products division, obtaining the license to sell Disney, Marvel and Disney|Pixar-branded clothing and accessories that change colors with sunlight, adding more than 200 new Disney clothing, nail polish, and hair accessory products to Del Sol’s product line, making this one of the largest growth initiatives and product development milestones in recent company history.
Del Sol is planning to introduce new Disney and Marvel-themed color-changing sunglasses, flip-flops, backpacks, hats, and more by year’s end and into the first quarter of 2015.
