Del Sol this month donated more than 500 color-changing Del Sol-Disney and Marvel backpacks, filled with Del Sol kids tees, Solize, and nail polish, to the Helping Kids with Cancer Foundation (HKWC), which held a huge gala event at the 50 West Building in downtown Salt Lake City.
Del Sol’s separate, sister brand, Cariloha, auctioned off two beautiful gift baskets, filled with their bamboo products, which were the first baskets to go and raised more than $3,000 alone.
HKWC exceeded its fundraising goals, bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research that aids patients and their families at Primary Children’s Hospital.
The organization ensures that families are up-to-date on all of their current bills and finances and are taken care of while their children are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. HKWC services are unique because no other resources, such as insurance or community programs, exist to meet these urgent needs.
All the kids loved the Del Sol backpacks and gear and were wearing them all over the event. Big thanks to the HKWC team and the Del Sol team for helping coordinate the event and to Del Sol’s Customer Service and Fulfillment Teams who helped pull the products and fill up and box the backpacks for the kids.
Del Sol, as quoted in Salt Lake Magazine, is “Full of sunny optimism about business and life, [the people] of Del Sol do more than just cater to cruise ship passengers and fun-in-the-sun beachgoers. Staying true to their motto, ‘Creating fun, joy, smiles and memories for everyone under the sun,’ the company donated several tons of its products to relief efforts for [cancer research, local elementary schools, LDS Church Humanitarian Efforts and impoverished communities in Mexico]. And that’s something we can all smile about.”
Each year, throughout the world, whether it’s in our stores directly or through our humanitarian efforts, Del Sol brightens millions of people’s lives through its products, shopping experience, and humanitarian efforts.
