Del Sol this week introduced its new Disney, Marvel and Disney-Pixar color-changing backpacks and hats, further expanding its 2015 Disney-licensed color-changing clothing and accessories lines.
Available only at Del Sol stores and online, these Del Sol-Disney backpacks and hats are Del Sol exclusives and color-changing-print breakthroughs using Del Sol’s proprietary Spectrachrome® technology, which is what causes the products to change color when exposed to ultraviolet light; i.e., sunlight.
“In this recent launch, we used several previously unheard of printing, cutting and sewing techniques that allowed us to create all-over, color-changing prints on backpacks and hats,” said Scott Brady, Del Sol AVP of Communications. “They’re a first for us and we anticipate them providing our stores and customers with more Disney product variety.”
The next installment of Del Sol-Disney color-changing products is scheduled to launch in the spring and will include new Disney nail polish, board shorts, and flip-flops – all of which will feature various Disney, Marvel and Disney-Pixar color-changing characters.
“The new color-changing backpacks aren’t just for school,” said Brady. “With their comfortable handles, they make great carry-ons for traveling and daypacks for trips to the beach. Kids can carry their own toys, which will lighten parents’ suitcases.”
The Del Sol-Disney backpacks have two side-mesh pockets for carrying water bottles, toys, dolls, small stuffed animals, marbles, rocks, shells, and other random things kids pick up. They have a durable top handle that makes them easy for parents to carry and easy to hang in a closet. Since kids will get tired of carrying their stuff, it’s important that parents know these are easy and comfortable to carry. The padding on the shoulder straps, back panel, and handle make the bag comfortable to wear, too.
“Each color-changing hat varies in design and style – some of the hats are fitted, some are snapback, and one is Velcro,” said Brady. “Some have mesh panels, others are all solid. The youth styles are flatbrim, the adult style has a curved brim (baseball hat style) – the hats and backpacks are great add-ons and help complete a Del Sol-Disney outfit.”
The color-changing backpacks include the following options: Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, Disney Princesses, and Disney Junior’s Minnie Mouse – all retailing for $25.00. Backpack dimensions are 15″ H x 12″ W x 4″ D.
The color-changing hats include the following options: Disney-Pixar Cars Lightning McQueen, Marvel Avengers Iron Man Flat Brim, Marvel Avengers Captain America Star, Marvel Ultimate Spider-Man Spidey Flat Brim, Marvel (Marvel Comics) Captain Shield. Most hats are 100% cotton or 50% cotton / 50% poly-mesh. Retail pricing ranges between $20 and $25.
