This week on Del Sol’s “Where to Have Fun in the Sun” we’ll be exploring the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
Considered part of the Southern Caribbean, this island paradise is every vacationers dream come true. With amazing waterfalls, breathtaking beaches and exciting adventure tours, there’s something fun for everyone under the sun.
St. Lucia has so many amazing experiences to off that you won’t know where to begin. Therefore, before you head out on your island getaway, let us fill you in on the best things to do while visiting St. Lucia:
Zip Lining
Experience the rainforest from above and zip along the tops of lush, enormous rainforest trees. This bird’s eye view will bring a sense of adventure to your luxury island getaway, and it’ll be like nothing you’ve ever seen.
Hiking
Stroll through the St. Lucia’s rainforest at your own pace and experience the beautiful greenery up close. Discover overwhelming beauty, wildlife and amazing waterfalls where you’ll create memories you keep with you for the rest of your life. The Pitons, St Lucia’s two volcanic mountains (as shown in the image above), are certainly some of the island’s best features, and a Gros Piton hike is an experience unlike any other.
Local Life, Beach Life
Whether it’s a sailing event or a jazz and arts festival, there always seems to be something going on for everyone to enjoy. Experience cultural celebrations or various hosted events that happen year round. Whenever you visit, you can expect a good time.
Spend as much time as possible soaking up the sun on St. Lucia’s best local and tourist resort beaches, which are: Anse Chastanet and the adjacent Anse Mamin Beach, two exotically lush royal palm-lined beaches. Sugar Beach is another favorite – the grounds are naturally beautiful and it’s a stunning location between the Pitons. The Soufriere Region in general is naturally abundant with royal palms. Rendezvous Resort, Coconut Bay Resort & Spa, East Winds and Mirage Beach Hotel in Laboire are all great resort beaches.
Food
With menus influenced by cultures from around the world, you’ll get to experience a plethora of different dishes and flavors – French, Dutch, Spanish, etc. From local eateries to fine dining, you’ll enjoy a wide variety of different cuisines that will keep your taste buds wanting more.
Nightlife
When you first think of vacationing in St. Lucia, you might think of everything fun in sun, but what you don’t realize is that St. Lucia boasts a vibrant nightlife. Come and experience one of St. Lucia’s most famous parties, the Gros Islet Street Party, where you can enjoy dining, dancing and even a little late night shopping.
Make sure to stop by the Del Sol stores (both in Seraphine, Castries), where we offer a huge collection of island-themed clothing and accessories (exclusive to St. Lucia) that all change colors with sunlight. Also, don’t hesitate to ask our friendly staff to answer any of your questions about places to eat, play, visit, etc. They’re happy to help.
