Pulling off the perfect St. Patrick’s Day look and prank can be accomplished at the same time with this easy, yet stylish, color-changing shamrock nail art tutorial.
Thanks to Del Sol’s unique polishes that change color with sunlight, not only can you trick your friends into thinking you’re not wearing green, you can also accent your St. Paddy’s Day wardrobe with a festive-looking nail design. Talk about a bit ‘o Irish luck!
The shamrock design in this tutorial uses Del Sol’s Don’t Be Jaded nail polish (changes from mint to lavender with sunlight), non-UV-sensitive top and base coats, a white polish and a gold-glitter polish.
Any blue-to-green polish by Del Sol will work for this nail tutorial.
- Start with a coat of Del Sol’s clear base coat to protect your nails.
- Then, apply at least three coats of Don’t Be Jaded polish by Del Sol. Let that dry completely.
- Next, put a small amount of the gold-glitter polish on the corner of a make-up sponge.
- Then, sponge the glitter onto your nail to create a gradient effect.
- For the accent nail, do another base coat followed by a couple coats of white polish.
- Next, use a dotting tool and Don’t Be Jaded polish to paint a small shamrock on the corner of your nail by making four little hearts in the shape of a clover. Remember to give the shamrock a little stem.
- Then, use the dotting tool to put a single gold sparkle in the center of the shamrock.
- Finally, finish it all off with Del Sol’s top coat to give your design further protection and shine.
