As a child, I was in love with color-changing products, like mood rings. Now, I’ve been trying to find age-appropriate products to fulfill my love of color change. You can only imagine my excitement when I found Del Sol. An apparel, beauty, and other products company where each product they offer has its own color-change component. What makes their color-change technology so unique is that the change only occurs after the product has been exposed to the sun. Called Spectrachrome, these color-changing crystals morph great T-shirt graphics into AWESOME T-shirt graphics!
For this review, Del Sol was extremely generous by allowing me to choose what products I think would best represent my readership. For the guys, I chose a cool pirate graphic T-shirt that my fiancé, Shane, had the pleasure of reviewing. For the women, I grabbed myself a T-shirt and some of the most amazing color-changing nail polish that I have ever seen.
If I hadn’t seen it for myself, I wouldn’t have believed how awesome Del Sol’s color change could be. It’s definitely not a gimmick and would make for some amazing gifts for any occasion.
I was extremely surprised at the high quality T-shirts that arrived from Del Sol. Whenever I’ve order T-shirts online in the past, the fabric was stiff and the quality was horrible. Shane’s Pirate Skulls & Muskets shirt was impressive. He only wears a few shirts that he rotates throughout the week because he has to dress up for work. I was surprised to see that he immediately accepted his Del Sol shirt into his rotation – that’s a true feat for most apparel…. With our works schedules, the time change doesn’t let us have a lot of daylight to try out these shirts; plus, the winter weather definitely makes for some cloudy days. So, I just want to let everyone know that direct sunlight yields the best results with these fun tees! I’m excited for Shane to wear this shirt again because it’s so cool to see it go from nothing to colorful in a matter of seconds.
The Del Sol Women’s T-shirt was great, but I was a little disappointed in the size. Normally, I can easily wear an XL shirt with no issues. To be on the safe side with Del Sol, I told them to send me their 2XL so that it wouldn’t be too tight. The shirt sizing runs a little smaller for a women’s cut, but the shirt just seemed a little too snug to be a 2XL. Other than that, I was super impressed with the color-changing print on the t-shirt. It goes from subtle design to popping out when you’re in the sun. It was a nice surprise for people to notice that my shirt’s feather flourish had gotten darker. Of course, I had to then explain to them about all the great color-changing products that Del Sol offers, especially me last review item: the nail polish!
Before I started my new job, I decided to paint my nails with the Electrick! nail polish from Del Sol. Because of turning the clocks back recently, and my changing work schedule, it was hard for me to make it outdoors with enough sunlight to get my nail polish to change colors. I was about to give up on how great the polish was until I was waiting outside to go into work one day. I looked down and my nails were finally green! It was the coolest thing that I have ever seen. In a matter of seconds with some direct sunlight, the Del Sol nail polish will change to a different color. Electrick! was a lighter blue without sun and a bright green with the sun! If ever given the opportunity, I would love to try Heartbreaker and the Trick-or-Treat colors as well! They look great! Plus, the 2012 Holiday Colors have been released – Tinsel Toes is MY FAVORITE just from the photos!
Overall, Del Sol is the PERFECT HOLIDAY GIFT for any age this season! They’ve got Men’s, Women’s, and Kid’s apparel. Plus, you can get some great kid’s accessories, Disney included, that will wow any child! I know that I’m considering some of their products for holiday gifts for this season for my friends and family.
