Spotlight on Del Sol Color Change!
By Teen, Toddler, Newborn
So what makes the color change? They are called Spectrachrome crystals. Basically when these crystals are exposed to UV rays, they open to reveal their color. This process is called molecular excitation transition. This concept was actually first explored by NASA. You can read more about the process HERE.
Our experience:
We were sent two awesome products to review by Del Sol. The first is a pair of color-changing earrings that are white dangling stars that turn pink in the sun. The stars are a beautiful pearl shell. The hook is made of sterling silver, and they dangle about 2 1/2 inches. Given the length of the earrings, we are surprised that they are actually quite lightweight. The color is gorgeous indoors and out!
The second item we reviewed is color-changing nail polish. The name of the color is Heartbreaker! Indoors it is a bright glittering pink and outdoors it is a dark plum purple!
This nail polish is a little on the thin side. This is both good and bad. Good because you get more even coverage and a quick drying time. But, you do need at least two coats to get a good coverage. These pictures are with two coats. I do love the colors! This is definitely one of my favorite polishes!
