Runway Nail Looks That Were Like Whoa

You guys aren’t going to like this (we sure didn’t), but it looks like the overwhelming trend of spring ’14 is going to be plain ‘ol nude nails. Womp, womp. We saw them everywhere at NYFW, and, while pretty, they did nothing to stoke the fires of our nail inspiration.
It wasn’t all neutral news, though — a few brave designers sallied forth and kept the nail-art flame alive, albeit in a slightly more refined, understated way, and we did manage to find a few fantastic colors worth noting in the mix.

Slide 5: Probably the most expensive nail look we saw all NYFW, this gilded Creatures of Comfort mani was created by Del Sol. It featured three coats of the brand’s color-changing Snow White polish topped off by randomly placed gold leaf. This created the illusion of the gold flaking away from the nail. We wish our chipped manicures looked this opulent….
