The Del Sol St. Maarten General Manager, Brenda Lake, and staff members recently participated in a generous product donation in Jamaica through the Rotaract Club of St. Maarten, which will be hosting the global Rotary Conference on St. Maarten in May.
“It was an honor to be able to contribute to a worthy cause through the Rotaract Club of St. Maarten,” said Brenda Lake, Del Sol and Cariloha St. Maarten General Manager. “We were able as a company to sponsor the Cariloha bamboo Leis and Del Sol color-changing bags. Each member received a bag filled with goodies, which got them all excited. They can’t wait to come to St. Maarten to shop at both Del Sol and Cariloha.”
“I would personally like to thank you and your company once again for sponsoring the Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise with Del Sol bags and Cariloha necklaces, as we showcased our island in Jamaica and invited Rotaract Clubs around the world to attend conference in St. Maarten in May 2015,” said Elisia L. Lake, DRR, Rotaract District 7020. “Rotaract is a Rotary International sponsored service organization for young men and women between the ages of 18 and 30 years. The Rotaract of St. Maarten Sunrise is part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. This effort starts at the community level but knows no limits in its outreach.”
The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise organizes a variety of projects and activities, depending primarily on the interests of the club members. There are, however, three types of activities within the Rotaract program that we undertake in varying degrees: Professional development, leadership development, and service projects.
“Above all other principles, ‘Service above Self,’ is the credo that guides Rotary,” said Elisia. “The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise service projects are designed to improve the quality of life at home and abroad. These projects often address today’s most critical issues, such as violence, drug abuse, AIDS, hunger, the environment and illiteracy.”
Del Sol and the entire Del Sol St. Maarten staff was grateful to be a part of this donation and looks forward to more support and involvement in the future.
