Are you old enough to remember mood rings? I am! My twin sister had an obsession with them! To this day, she still has one! Princess has taken quite an interest in it! I remember thinking that they were magic! *Spoiler Alert* Now, I know the truth, thermal energy (i.e: heat and cold) is what makes it work!
The hottest (and I mean hottest, or at least UV) trend of the year is color change! From jewelry to shirts, and now, even nail polish!
We were sent an awesome T-shirt and bottle of nail polish from Del Sol! Princess is so excited by the color change technology! She thinks it’s magic, and Del Sol thinks so, too. “Seriously, it’s the magic of Del Sol’s proprietary Spectrachrome® Technology, which harnesses the power of the sun through what chemists call a molecular excitation transition. In simpler terms, it means that Spectrachrome crystals reveal their hidden colors when exposed to sunlight. It’s not rocket science, but then again, maybe it is”*.
What a fascinating bit of science! And it means that, in a more fun than practical application, you will be the center of every party, walking in the mall or just hanging out. Every one will want to know how your nails changed color and why. It is unique and definitely a trend above the rest!
The Calypso nail polish is a pretty peachy pink without the sun. With the sun, it becomes a radiant plum purple! It’s beautiful and really, really cool!
We have taken to sticking one hand in direct sunlight, the other behind our backs, just to play with the color change process. This nail polish is so cool!
Speaking of cool, so is Princess’ T-shirt! (I particularly love how I didn’t have to remove her name from this shirt, as it already says Princess, instead of her real name).
She really enjoys wearing this T-shirt! Fortunately, I can wash and dry it without any consequence to the Spectrachrome crystals! Makes it a breeze to care for!
